1997 - emergence of self-help group “Mother Center “Krona”.
1999 - creation of Kharkiv women's organization “Mother Center “Krona”.
2002 - official registration of Kharkiv women's public organization “Krona”.
2010 - reorganization into the Gender Center for Information and Analysis “KRONA”.
OUR MISSION: To strengthen the influence of civil society and NGOs in formation and implementation of state policy on gender equality and European integration in Ukraine.
OUR MAIN TARGET: promotion for gender equality in Ukrainian society and elimination for all forms of discrimination.
OUR TASKS:
- to strengthen the role of women in Ukrainian society, promotion of women's movement in Ukraine;
- to increase the level of social and political awareness for women, men and youth;
- to ensure equality in all spheres of life;
- to prevent family violence and other forms of violation;
- to popularize a reproductive responsibility for both women and men;
- to protect human rights, as well as rights of national, cultural, sexual and other groups and communities through prevention of discrimination;
- to distribute positive national and international experience in the fields of human rights, gender equality and European integration;
- to change gender stereotypes in Ukrainian society and media outlets.
OUR ACTIVITY:
- Implementation and support of programs, projects and activities aimed at increasing the role and status of women in society and gender equality in Ukraine;
- Scientific, expert, analytical, educational and cultural activities in the fields of gender policy and human rights protection;
- Organizing of educational activities in forms of courses, schools, training workshops for professionals and the general public;
- Holding of public events: forums, round-table discussions, meetings with local government leaders and community activists, representatives of education and media outlets;
- Providing of informational and consulting assistance for women, men and the youth on gender sensitivity;
- Creation of electronic informational resources (our Gender Website, digital libraries etc.);
- Protection of the legitimate interests of women in government bodies and local authorities;
- Publishing of our handbooks, manuals, bulletins etc. and its distribution;
- Participation in local, national and international projects and programs.
